Access to Work is a program provided by the UK government that aims to support individuals with disabilities or health conditions in their employment. It offers financial assistance and practical support to help overcome barriers at work.
It is available to those who are:
• in employment (including working from home)
• self-employed
• an apprentice
• on a work trial or work experience
• in an internship
• on a work placement
Access to Work funding is available to individuals who have a disability or a long-term health condition that affects their ability to work. This can include those who have a disability, illness or health condition which makes doing their job challenging. This could be a physical or sensory disability, a mental health challenge such as anxiety or depression or a neurodiversity such as dyslexia.
The fund available is up to £66,000 per person, per year. This is a grant that does not have to be repaid, it does not affect any other benefits, nor is it restricted by earnings.
The funding provided by Access to Work can be used to cover various costs associated with disability-related adjustments in the workplace. This includes specialised equipment, adaptations to the work environment, travel expenses, communication support, and even a support worker if necessary.
The specific support and funding amount are determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the individual’s needs and circumstances.
With 14 years of experience in personal development, our specialist coaches help employees/employers to access the funding. We then specialise in providing ongoing coaching to those with mental health challenges and personality disorders or neurodiversity.
However, it is important to note that there are certain restrictions to accessing Access to Work funding. The program is primarily aimed at individuals who are already in paid employment or are about to start a new job.
Get a free, no-obligation Access to Work conversation. If your application is successful you will not be required to pay for our support as it will usually be available through the Access to Work Fund.
